First Stop, Disneyworld!

Summer began in earnest for us when we loaded up the Suburban and headed to Florida. The primary stop was to be Destin, which was the trip I wanted to take in celebration of my 40th birthday -- but since we were driving, were going to be so close to Orlando (only 6 hours away), and had some Disney developers points that were going to expire if we didn't use them, we decided to tack on a few days at Disneyworld. Well, a few days quickly became 7 days, and since Jay couldn't be away from work for 2 straight weeks, we brought Christina along with us.

The drive was LONG -- all in about 20 hours. Don't think I'll be doing that again anytime soon! But when we finally drove through the "Welcome to DISNEYWORLD" arch, we were all excited and rearing to go. But first -- a stretch for our atrophied muscles and a swim in Saratoga Springs' awesome pool. I took this video of Lauren going down the waterslide for the first time on Jay's new camera unknowingly, but I'm so glad I have it, because it's perfectly illustrative of what happened to Lauren this summer. She became A. Big. Girl. And don't forget it. (Turn up the volume on your computers and listen closely, the tone is unmistakeable)
