First Day of School for Lauren!

She woke up in great spirits, excited about being a first grader and thrilled to be going back to school. We rushed around (she has to be at school much earlier this year) to get her properly fed and ready (and get ourselves ready), and somewhere in the excitement, she forgot that the curling iron was plugged in and burned her arm reaching for something. There were lots of tears (as well as some salve and a bright blue bandage), but she was a trooper and by the time we got to school, she was happy to be there. She cheerfully said goodbye and gave me a hug, as I dissolved into tears and scurried out of the room. Big milestones are still emotional for me, no matter how little she is affected by them.
