What is this Emotion Exactly????

So, tonight is the big party and auction for the Co-op. You all remember that I co-chaired and/or chaired this auction three years in a row. It was an insane amount of work that stressed me out and made me crazy and also was very gratifying. But this year I became Board President, and with the addition of these new responsibilities I couldn't do both, so I decided to step down. It was time for some new blood (always good for any organization -- new ideas bring new excitement).

In my place stepped my very good friend Jeanie Griswold, Jen Huffman, and Andrea Housey. And they have quite a night planned -- it's going to be great fun and great for our school. But I just have to say, it feels odd to be sitting at home blogging while all the chaos is going on around me. Walking through the school doors every morning, I'd automatically go to the auction table to see what we got, then remembered it wasn't my job to worry about it. It's been the oddest mix of melancholy and relief.

I paid for my auction tickets and raffle tickets and donated my two items like any other parent. And rather than running around like a crazy person today, I spent the morning shopping for something great to wear. It may be the first auction that I can actually spend more than 5 minutes getting ready for.
My big contribution has been photographing the kids and overseeing the decoration of their frames, which has kind of been my thing and they asked me to continue. So here is the photograph of my favorite Co-op Kid. Posted today. Auction day. As I sit in the comfort of my own home.

Crazy mixed emotions when you watch other people doing something that has been your thing. You definitely made the right choice by stepping down, you put an insane amount of work into the previous years and can be proud of them. One more thing - I absolutely LOVE this picture of Jon Owen, so handsome and sweet. Great Photo!!!
