Softball

So this is Lauren's second year as a Sassy Slugger. Same excellent Coach, mostly the same group of girls, so they had a solid foundation taking them from T-Ball to coach pitch softball. It seemed like a jump both too big and too early, but the girls adjusted quickly and showed that they were totally ready for it, proving once again that sometimes I worry for nothing.

Again, Lauren is a pretty good natural athlete, so we are used to seeing her doing well at sports. However, she is a very, VERY good softball player, and I am a little amazed by it. She picks it up quickly and easily, is always aware of what's going on on the field and her responsibilities regardless of what position she's playing, has a huge throw, and a really huge swing.

She has one more game, and I will try to remember to take some video of her at-bat. It's really something.

Our #17 Sassy Slugger, with her teammates.

playing pitcher

readying for her first at-bat, as her coaches make sure she knows what she needs to do...

...and here she is doing what she needed to do, absolutely clocking the ball

on first base, talking with her coach

and scoring!!!
