Lauren's Dance Recital

It's hard to believe that this year's dance recital was Lauren's SIXTH dance recital. Six years of dancing at Powerhouse of Dance. And the girl isn't even eight yet! Craziness. That makes me sound like a crazy stage Mom, doesn't it? The reality is that the girl loves to dance, she loved it at 2, and she loves it still. And she's quite a little performer!

So this year's hip hop/jazz routine was set to "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," with a little hip hop interlude in there that made it plenty funky. I wish that I'd recorded the rehearsal (a professional videographer records the recital) or at least taken some action shots, but that day was back to back activities and I somehow made it into the Majestic Theater without my camera.

But if you can, you will see Lauren, probably the shortest girl on stage (this class is for 8-11 year olds, and she was at least a full year younger than everyone, two or three years younger than most), front and center with a beautiful toe point and a huge smile on her face.

It must be tiresome to hear me brag about my children. But this time of year, they have so many accomplishments, I am brimming with pride.
