So after the crazy week and the fun of Valentine's Day, Lauren crashed. About 5:00 on Friday, she laid down on the couch, got pale and hot and clammy, and proceeded to develop a fever of over 103 and enough chills and aches to choke a horse. So I loaded up all 3 kids this morning to take Lauren to the doctor, and subsequently found out that she has (a) the flu and (b) a raging ear infection. So she got a gnarly antibiotic shot in the leg, a prescription for more antibiotics to start tomorrow, and the diagnosis of 5-7 more days of misery.So after all that hilarity, I took her to Toys R Us to get something special (what we always do after a particularly hairy doctors appointment), and she picked out this "real" polar bear that she named Fristy. And she loves it.
Funny how she can look beautiful even when she's miserable, right?
