The day started with lots of "Happy Birthday!" squeels, and the resounding chorus of "I'm two!" while raising his hands in triumph. I tried to get him to do it on camera with no luck...so you'll have to trust me, it was adorable.
We then proceeded to take him for some new birthday shoes (he loves shoes, just like his Mommy) and a birthday lunch at Purple Cow, where he was brought a purple ice cream sundae with a candle on top, and sung to rousingly by all the servers. He loved it and dutifully clapped for them at the end.
And of course, a birthday just wouldn't be a birthday without balloons ("loooons"), chocolate cake, and presents after dinner. It was a great day, enjoyed by all, even Mommy, who is trying very hard not to get emotional about the fact that my baby isn't a baby anymore.

I am SO Glad he got the fire truck in time! It looks like at least it caught his attention for a few minutes.
