Fairy Tale Presentation

But before I came down with this flu (although I have to say, it doesn't feel entirely like the flu, because I'm still hungry -- damn the bad luck, I'm miserably sick and won't even lose the obligatory illness pounds), on Monday morning I was signed up to help with Lauren's fairy tale celebration.

It's a sweet concept. These kids have gone through this entire process of reading numerous fairy tales, identifying components of fairy tales, coming up with a blueprint for their own fairy tale, writing first drafts, second drafts, individual editing, group editing, illustration, etc. etc. It was quite involved. The completed fairy tales were then bound for presentation.

It was set up like a book reading, the kids got up and told us about their works of fiction, and afterwards we toasted our "authors and illustrators" with sparkling pink lemonade served in plastic wine glasses and cookies that looked like magic wands. It was a sweet, sweet morning. I loved it.
