So last week was the district swim meet, which was a swim meet quite unlike what we'd experienced to date. 6 or 7 teams were swimming, every team at least double the size of ours, older than ours, and stronger than ours. But our sweet little swimmers swam their hearts out, and just participating was an enriching experience for all of them. Jon Owen got an 8th place in breast and a 12th place in free, and Lauren would have gotten a really high breast ribbon (she won her heat -- 1 of only 3 heats) placement, but she was DQ'd for not touching the wall with both hands. Oh well, live and learn.
So last night the team, coaches, and parents gathered to give kids their medals, have some dinner, and play some games. It was a good end of the season celebration.
