The Birthday Party

So. The Birthday Party. As in years past, we combined Lauren and Jon Owen's parties, and we needed something that would accomodate all of the various factions of friends -- the class friends, the softball friends, the Adventure Princess friends, the Adventure Guide friends, the Co-op friends, the family friends, etc. etc. It's quite a large group. So we rented out the pool at the club for a few hours on a Sunday afternoon, invited all the various friends and their families, and threw a big shindig.

50 or so kids and 5o or so adults, 4 lifeguards, fajitas and chicken strips and hamburgers and hot dogs, beer and margaritas and smoothies and lemonade, a beautiful and delicious cake, fun old fashioned games for the kids, and a great time had by all.


Lauren in her first-ever bikini, which she begged and pleaded for much to my chagrin...but she did look great in it, I must say.

isn't that a beautiful cake? There was high drama associated with it, but it turned out great!
