Today, Jon Owen lead his karate class in their warm up drill. On select days, the most senior boy in attendance helps lead this part of the class, it's a reward for working hard and achieving seniority, teaches them leadership, and teaches the other kids to have respect for their peers. It's a great concept.
Unfortunately for Jon Owen, he views it as a ice pick through the skull sort of responsibility -- he isn't entirely comfortable being put on the spot, and becomes very embarassed if he forgets what he's supposed to do or say. The boy is truly my son! But today he did great, and only needed subtle prompting from Mr. Moore.
