In first grade, soccer becomes slightly more serious. There are now 7 players on the field instead of 5. There is a goalie. The field is larger. And the goal is larger. There is organized offense and defense. So today, under the hot Texas sun, Lauren played her first game with the Purple Ponies -- two quarters of defense and one quarter as the Goalie. The new system will take some getting used to, and she hasn't played soccer in a couple of years so she's a little rusty, but it was a good game and a good effort, and she protected her goal admirably. Here are a few shots of the day.
