Everyone remembers Miss Courtney, right? In the babysitting hall of fame first came Carrie, then Courtney, and now Christina (just noticed that all the kids babysitters have been C's...). Courtney babysat Lauren and Jon Owen a few afternoons a week while she was at SMU, then moved to San Diego after graduation to get married and continue her education. Of all the babysitters, Courtney was hands down the favorite (and I don't just say that because she reads my blog!).
So she and her husband, Bryan, were in Dallas a few days ago and came by to see us, bringing wonderful Christmas surprises for the kids. Lauren received an "L" necklace that I seriously have to force her to take off (we had a 20 minute conversation about why it wasn't a good idea to sleep in it), Jon Owen got a Webkinz lion that he named Leo and is caring for diligently in cyberspace, and Hudson got a fabulous fighter jet that makes cool noises and rolls on its own (I wish I had taken a picture of him cuddled up in bed with me last night -- in one hand he had his sippy cup of milk, in the other was the fighter jet).
Anyway. This was the first time we'd met Bryan (you'll remember that we went to California for her wedding, where Lauren proceeded to get really sick, necessitating an early exit), and we were struck by what a really nice, down to earth guy he is. It was a great visit, we all loved seeing Courtney again!
