Halloween In The Classroom!

Sigh.  More evidence that they're getting older.  Second grade is the last year that Parish allows students to wear costumes to school, and even at that, there wasn't a classroom party that the parents were able to attend.  So I only got to celebrate with Jon Owen this year as he ate popcorn hands and apple fingers and all sorts of ghastly snacks and played Boo Bingo and other fun games.

On the morning of the party, Lauren and Jon Owen were getting ready upstairs, having their usual conversation while they got dressed.  I popped up to see if they needed any help getting into their costumes, and overheard them talking about the day ahead of them.  Lauren, as usual, was telling Jon Owen all about what he could expect from the day.  And Jon Owen tells Lauren, "Mommy gets to come to my party today, Lauren!" and Lauren says, "I know.  She always does."  Which of course I loved, because they know that I'm going to be there for them.
