...is always, always, always exhausting. End of school gatherings and parties and presentations and goodbyes that are extremely emotional, the planning of summer camps and trips and down time (who ever thought that down time would need to be planned), summer birthday parties that are thrown before everyone goes away for their planned summer down time, and of course, the gatherings surrounding my own birthday (I know, poor me, people want to celebrate with me).
Don't get me wrong, it's all great. Every last bit of it. But it all happens at once, and eventually, it makes me want to dig a hole and never come out.
Those of you who know me well know that being 24/7 social isn't natural to me and requires a fair amount of retreat to re-charge my batteries. And I've definitely hit retreat mode. But we're almost through, thankfully. Jon Owen's last day was Wednesday and Lauren's last day is next Wednesday.
And then I will be able to breathe again.
