Fine Arts Night, Take 3

So this was our third Fine Arts Night at Parish.  It is, above all else, a wonderful display of the art program at the lower campus and a real testament to the wonderful art teacher, Jennifer Ross.  I am truly amazed at what these kids produce under her tuteledge!  But in addition to the display of children's art, there is also a cultural element, and this year, it had a Native American bent.  There were Indian Dancers, storytellers, teepees, pottery making, etc.  It's a great night for the school.

So here are some highlights of the cultural activities:
Indian Dancer in full regalia
The kids learning a dance (that's Lauren in the white jeans and coral sweater)
the awesome storyteller, telling the story of the lazy coyote and the butterflies

As usual, I am in awe of Lauren's art.  She amazes me!  Here are a few of her displayed pieces:
"Hoppy Dreams" fashioned out of a single wire
this was my favorite -- her Chinese brush painting
proud girl next to her monochromatic moonscape

And this year, of course, Jon Owen also displayed some art.  For someone who doesn't love art, I was amazed at what he produced:
his piece of the totem pole
my favorite Jon Owen piece -- the still life banana
his rocket is in there, right by the wood sculpture sign
